02/12 :  Xmas Social

   Yes this is it, the wonderful news we know you have all been waiting for, oh yes, the Xmas Social. We are very excited about this year's social and have compiled a unique programme for the day. The event will take place on Saturday 9th December and will be divided into three parts.

1. We will begin with a special and rare Kendo practice between 1:00-3:00pm for everyone in the ever exclusive Dance Hall in the Sports Centre.

2. At 6:00pm we will reconvene at Planet Lazer, for an exciting couple of rounds of lazer-tag. If you make it to the Kendo practice you can plan transport there. Alternatively visit the Planet Lazer website for travel instruction, or see this map. (Unfortunately, this part of the programme is not included in the costs listed below).

3. For those who are unable to make it to the lazer-tag, you are still welcome to meet at Yoshi's house around 7:30-8:00pm for food, drinks and lots of fun!!

The cost for all of this are a mere £10, preferably to be paid to Tara (Social Secretary) or Mirander (the Treasurer) in person at the Sunday, Monday or Wednesday Kendo practice. Alternatively you can put the £10 in an envelope labelled with YOUR Name and “Kendo Xmas Social” and slip it under Tara and Mirander’s door at 9 Lypeatt Court, Parkwood. This latter option is entirely at your own risk!

16/11 :  Japanese Event at Chaucer College

   Chaucer College is hosting an Open Evening on 23 November from 7pm. There will be a full Japanese buffet, wine and entertainment. The event is being held to raise money for the Lady Mayoress's Charity.

As a part of the exciting programme, some Chaucer and senior University of Kent Kendo Club kendoka will be giving a kendo performance. If you are a member of the club and you are not asked to perform, but still want to go, please get a ticket as soon as possible as they are high in demand.

10/11 :  Super Noodles

   We're off to another fun-filled social on Saturday, November 11. This time we are going to Super Noodles, Northgate 89, Canterbury to have a nice meal at a student-friendly price! After that, we will probably end up going somewhere for even more fun.

You can walk with us from the Rutherford College side entrance (just next to the Senate) a 6:15pm. Alternatively, you can meet us there at 7pm. If you favour the latter option but don't know where Super Noodles is located, you can look at the following map. If you want to know more about the restaurant, here is the link.

If you are coming, please email Tara, the wonderful social secretary on social@kentkendo.net. If you don't see this notice until Saturday, it would still be great if you infromed her or one of the committee members so that we know how many will be coming.    Just writing to inform you that the Forum is now available for members, although it is still in the opening stages of development. There are nevertheless a number of posts for you to comment on, so feel free to do so! It seems Dany is feeling awfully alone in there!
